Parent Involvement

Parents are the first and most significant influence in the lives of their children.

We work in partnership with you to support your child through their early years of development.

We welcome the involvement of our families in the life of our school. It is your connection, support energy and ideas that assist your child’s school to develop and grow in so many ways:

  • assisting on excursions
  • helping with reading in the classrooms
  • working with community-wide events
  • providing governance via the School Board
  • Supporting the P & F Committee

Prior to joining our school for any volunteer duties, parents / caregivers must read the Induction Pack for Volunteers

You must also complete and provide evidence / copies of the following:

  • Current Catholic Archdiocese Police Clearance
  • Current Working with Children Clearance (obtained in conjunction with the above Police Clearance)
  • Responding to abuse and neglect certificate
  • Confidential Volunteer Application Forms (this form includes the volunteer details form, declaration form and health form)

Clearances are organised via the Front Office – details are outlined in the Induction Pack booklet.

We appreciate all our volunteer, who take time to engage in our school community. Your time, skills and knowledge enriches our school and is greatly appreciated.

Volunteering

Catholic Police Clearance
Parents and carers who help at the St Catherine’s school will need to be registered as a volunteer and complete a Catholic Police Clearance.
Once you have this clearance you are able to accompany children on an excursion, help in the classroom or in other ways have contact with the school children.

All staff and all parents/carers who help at the school are required to have successfully completed a Catholic Police Clearance when working with children.

This includes all activities including accompanying children on excursions.
